Legislature Passes CT Healthcare Partnership Act

This morning, the Connecticut State Senate passed HB-5536, An Act to Establish a Connecticut Healthcare Partnership.  The vote was 22-12.  All 11 Republicans present voted against the act, as did one Democrat, Joan Hartley of Waterbury.  Senator John McKinney (R, Fairfield) said “I don’t believe a government-run health system is better than the market.”  The bill now goes to the governor for her signature
